Ethics and Compliance

Expert guidance for ethical and compliant operations

Ethics and Compliance

Overview

The contemporary regulatory environment requires organisations to not only deliver financial performance but also demonstrate integrity, transparency, and accountability across all levels of operations. Heightened enforcement actions, expanding anti-corruption laws, increased stakeholder scrutiny, and growing expectations around ethical conduct have made compliance a strategic imperative rather than a procedural obligation.

BDO India’s Ethics and Compliance services are designed to help organisations build resilient governance frameworks that prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, misconduct, bribery, and regulatory non-compliance.

How BDO India Can Help

Our aim is to assist organisations in developing and implementing best practices in order to prevent and detect fraud and corruption.

We conduct a comprehensive fraud risk assessment for our clients to provide them with an independent and objective assessment of the existing anti-fraud programme, identify gaps in the existing controls, and suggest measures to mitigate the gaps.

Ethics advisory services assist the client with well-designed training and education workshops on ethical dilemmas, ethical perception surveys, code of conduct development, training and communication modules, etc., which create awareness and communication of the organisation’s values and codes to its employees.

Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption Advisory provides assistance to clients with legislation like the UK Bribery Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). We help clients understand and respond to anti-corruption compliance in all its phases, even when the business spans many jurisdictions and is governed by many regulators.

Whistleblowing services help clients uncover acts of fraud and misconduct in their organisations and provide the highest level of anonymity at a low cost. We work with third-party service providers, which are professional services organisations specialising in whistleblowing services. The third-party service provider operates the hotline from a technical standpoint, and we work together in the implementation phase.

It is critical for organisations to have in place an AML, KYC and contract compliance framework to avoid situations of fraud.
