Twenty Indian ventures have been shortlisted for the India Emerging 20 (IE20) programme. These companies will participate in the London Tech Week, a festival of live events that will be held in London in June.

The IE20 programme has been launched by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan's business and promotional agency London & Partners, and is supported by Santander UK, BDO and Newland Chase. The objective is to identify high growth companies and help them expand internationally. Some of the selected startups include AI-driven HR tech firm Edge Networks, machine intelligence firm Flutura, talent management firm Mettl and enterprise SaaS provider SirionLabs.

The programme received 550 applications and 50 companies pitched to a panel of judges including Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, former Paytm payment bank CEO Shinjini Kumar and RNT Capital Advisers COO Natarajan.

“Sentiment towards Destination India is one of the highest in the recent past,“ said Arbinder Chatwal, head of India Advisory Services in accounting and tax advisory firm BDO. The criteria for selection included Indian startups with a revenue of about $2 million and a viable business model that has potential to expand overseas.
