
Sundaresh is the Group Chief Financial Officer at BDO India. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Registered Insolvency Professional with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). With over 30 years of experience, he has worked across corporate finance, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, financial controllership and business transformation. He was involved in establishing and leading the Business Restructuring practice at BDO India.
Prior to joining BDO India, Sundaresh held CFO roles with large companies, managing fundraising, business restructuring and stakeholder management initiatives. Over the last decade at BDO India, he has been involved in building and leading the firm’s insolvency and restructuring practice and has worked extensively with clients, lenders, and stakeholders across the stressed-assets ecosystem.
Matters handled by him under the IBC framework have led to judicial observations and rulings by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on issues relating to labour payments, treatment of stakeholders under Section 12A, provident fund and gratuity dues, and customs duty obligations during CIRP.
Sundaresh is associated with industry and professional bodies, including INSOL India, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Insolvency Law Academy (ILA). He also served as Co-Chairman of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC) in 2022.
