Sanjiv is a Partner with the Tax & Regulatory Services and he leads this practice for the Delhi-NCR region. Prior to joining BDO in India, he has worked with large accounting firms and has over 36 years of professional experience in domestic & international tax advisory and consulting, with a special focus on transfer pricing, corporate tax and IES practice. He has regularly represented clients before various tax authorities including Appellate Forum & Competent Authority of India on complex tax issues.
He works very closely with Senior legal counsel for matters in Supreme Court & High Court in relation to case preparation/ strategy formulation etc. for tax matters. He is a member on the Board at The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA). He was elected chairman of the Ethical Standards Board on ICAI from Feb’18 – Feb’19 and was instrumental in revising the ethics code in line with the international standards, which would be coming into effect next year.
He has been the Chairman of Tax & Tariff Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce and member of Direct Tax Committee of ASSOCHAM, PHD Chamber of Commerce, FICCI, etc. Sanjiv is a regular contributor to the tax journals and has been writing a column called “Tax Talk” in The Hindu Business Line for the last 6 years approx.
